There are 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 (43 quintillion) ways to scramble a Rubik’s Cube

  1. If there was one cube scrambled for every permutation and they were laid end to end they would stretch approximately 261 LIGHT YEARS the extra permutations from assembling the cube in an unsolvable state - this number would be 12 times as big... or they could cover the earth in 273 LAYERS of Rubik’s Cubes

  2. If you were to turn a Rubik’s Cube once every second, it would take you 1.4 TRILLION YEARS to go through all the permutations. If you took into consideration all the extra permutations from assembling the cube in an unsolvable state - this number would be 12 times as big.
